Replacing most parts on my PC. Help needed

Hello, this is my first post on tek. Just found about this site the other day. Some great videos cemented my resolution about sticking with AMD based CPU. However, I would appreciate if people can help me with all of the other parts necessary for making a "smooth" transition and buying a good gaming rig. That being said I will list components I intend to buy and those I have now on my soon to be old spec that will be transferred. For the rest I am willing to hear the recommendations.

This is what I currently have:

CPU - AMD Phenom II X2 560

Motherboard - ASRock 870 Extreme3

GPU - XFX CORE Edition Radeon 7770

RAM - 2x4GB Dual-Channeled HyperX Beast 1600MHz

Power Supply - Enermax NAXN ADV. 82+ Bronze Certified 650W

 

This is what I was thinking for replacement:

CPU - AMD FX-8350

Motherboard - ASUS Sabertooth 990FX or Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0

 

The other components I would like:

- a decent cooler (not sure if I will overclock).

- a new case (was thinking about Fractal Design R4)

- maybe a decent SSD (120 or 128 GB, though probably not for this price range, but will consider if it's a possibility)

All this considered, my top priorities now are: good Motherboard, decent CPU and a cooler. Maybe it's not good for ignoring an SSD, but money does not grow on trees. Still, will listen if there is a snowball chance in hell to fit it in.

Also, any other recommendations/observations are more than welcomed. Note that I am from EU, so things listed from newegg etc., does not help me. This is about 500-520 € I am willing to spend on this upgrade. Thank you all for taking your time to help me :).

I would recommend the CPU and motherboard upgrade that you have chosen. It is not essential to have an SSD.

You could save money by purchasing the 8320, then overclocking it with a good heatsink. The 8320 is the same as the 8350, but doesn't overclock as far.

You would be able to save more money with the FX6300 and an appropriate choice of 970 chipset motherboard. This would allow you to place money on a better graphics card, the GPU is the most important component in a gaming machine.

The 7770GHz is a reasonable gaming GPU. If you have any budget left, I would recommend upgrading that, before you get an SSD. It will have a larger impact on your gaming performance.

It is rumoured that new AMD GPUs will be released later in the year. You might be able to pick up a 7950 for a good price.

@Berserker, thank you very much for your answer. I think that I will go with Sabertooth+ FX-8350. For the cooler I was thinking about ThermalTake's Jing or Frio. Are those any good for FX CPU? Thanks for the GPU advice, I will consider that option also.

@Mate3e3e, I will buy them through a local webshop. My budget si 500-550€.

Okay, cool, thx. We'll see about this. Although, maybe I'll skip the SSD in favor of better motherboard or a Fractal Case. Thoughts?

Hmmm Okay i really like Fractal Cases but everything is expensive here in our country.

Do you plan on upgrading the grapich card? Or you will just stick with 7770?

Dunno. Was thinking about buying another one from a friend and put it in Xfire. Don't know if that would do me any good. Need to test it first, maybe.
Yeah, it's damn expensive, but I need to upgrade, so that's that.
