Replacement fans for a Corsair H100i

Hey everyone,

I currently have a 4770K with an H100i attached. The stock fans are becoming quite loud under load and I was looking to replace them.

My first thought was the Corsair SP120 fans as I can get two for $35 CAD. My big question with these is how are they different from the stock fans? They look the similar and have a similar fan design, so I was wondering if they function better or am I really just paying for an upgrade on the looks.

Not sure if it matters, but they are in a CM Storm Trooper case with the two LED stock fans on the front controlled by the case controller bringing air in. I also have a 780 Ti that is cooled with a Kracken G10 and H90 with some Bit Fenix LED fan attached in pull (DC attached to a rear fan header on motherboard). The H100i is in a push configuration at the top above the motherboard.

I'm not looking for anything crazy expensive, but I would like something that is an upgrade from the current fans on the H100i. I will probably replace the one on the H90 soon as well.

Thanks!

You can also try a single drop of clipper oil on those fans and only spend $3.00. works well for me. lasts a LONG time too.

I replaced my H100i stock fans with SP120 white LED ones just because I have a white theme going on, they are controlled by my Corsair 600T case fan controller.
When I turn the fans to max, while playing GTA V, they are very very loud.

I may just play around with the fan profiles then. I'm running Linux so changing them isn't the easiest thing in the world.

Id look into the EK Vardars. They are honestly the best fans for the money. If you want the quiet they rank f1 - f5 .. LOL f1 is the slowest but honestly I run f5s and keep them at min unless the computer is getting hot. They are so nice I really suggest getting them. if you head to performance PC they should have them

also @Logan you know how LTT has fans. wouldnt it be cool if you had TS branded EK vardars LOL? that would be sick.. id buy those

I suppose this thread can be closed now. I ended up going with Corsair SP 120 PWM fans. Bit expensive, but seem to be working very well. I could hardly tell my computer was on when I pressed the button. Usually the fans are extremely loud when they ramp up on boot. Nice change.
