i have a hitachi Deskstar hds722525vlat80 250gb hdd. it clicks. i had the problem before, i would just shut down the pc, restart it and it will be fixed. but now it doesnt want to work. any way to repair it or atleast a cheap way to get it working for a day or so so i can remove the data on it.
Have you or did you at anypoint take off the cover of the HHD, a lot of the time if the tention on the screws is wrong then it will make a clicking sound, the best way to fix this would be to buy a tention screwdriver with changable heads, then get the tention rating off the internet.
