My friend wants to start using Adobe Premeire Pro for rendering, Space Engine V2, some light gaming, and research via Folding @ Home, with the research being the more important part. Would an i5-6500 + 1080 or i7 + 1070 work better in this scenario? (Both scenarios with everything identical except the cpu and gpu)

More cores - better. X99 system will be better than Z170... Meaning 5820K is better than 6700k for the pure reason of 2 extra cores...
