hello I’ve scoured the internets and found nothing that helped so maybe you can.
sometimes I work from home using my kubuntu 17.04 laptop to connect to my work window 7 box using RDP over vpn.
I preferred using remmina as rdesktop flashes and kicks me off at random.
for a week now I have been trying to connect using remmina but i get below output. The credentials I am using are correct and I do not get the same problem with rdesktop. I get the same error output when using xfreerdp-nightly.
SL_read: Failure in SSL library (protocol error?)
SSL_read: error:14094419:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:tlsv1 alert access denied
credssp_recv() error: -1
Authentication failure, check credentials.
If credentials are valid, the NTLMSSP implementation may be to blame.
Error: protocol security negotiation or connection failure
tried changing the order of command when using freerdp as suggested in the some bug reports in github relating to the same issue.

vpn cisco
im not sure how to debug this further and my works IT team state they have changed nothing or upgrading anything relating to TLS or RDP.
any ideas?
