Remix OS is a wonderful thing! After having to suffer with Bluestacks in order to run Android apps on my PC, I am able to not only run apps perfectly and take it anywhere. However, for anyone that has dealt with this already, I do have a few questions if anyone is willing to provide answers.
First off:
Are you able to get it to run in virtual box? I know it was designed to be bootable from a pendrive, and was wondering if I could keep it in a sedentary place like on a virtual hard drive in Virtual Box.
How in the honest-to-god-hell do you get a USB mouse to work on it. After spending several hours scouring the internet for drivers and feeling let-down, I still have yet to find a way to get a usable mouse working on it, even when i switch out my fancy-schmancy gaming mouse for a regular USB mouse.
Could it be possible to dual-boot this along with Tails OS? I know that may be asking a bit much, but just wondering if it's possible :D
If you guys could answer any of these questions, that would be most appreciated. Thanks!
I think I got it working in Virtualbox. Might be some guides around showing you how this is done.
I thought USB mice worked fine on it. They work fine in standard Android, although this is a different system so I have no idea.
Should be able to dual boot with anything using Grub, not sure about Tails OS specifically though.
Unfortunately its been a month or two since I looked at it, can't remember how far I did end up going with it. So my answers may not be of much help.
Have they changed their EULA yet?
Tails isn't designed to be installed on a computer, more booted from a USB drive and booted from so you don't leave a trace of having used the computer.
That said, as long as the hardware is compatible with the software, it's possible to dual-boot anything with anything.
That's what I was getting at, as can you dual boot them on a single USB stick?
Using a tool like YUMI you should be able to accomplish it in a very "point and shoot" method.
Ok. Thank you. I can do that
Definitely. YUMI should have an entry for TAILS, but probably not for remix. If it doesn't have an entry, use "try unlisted ISO (GRUB)" first, then if that doesn't work, use "try unlisted ISO (SYSLINUX)". You'll have to try booting it to test.
Gotcha. Which should i download first?
You can download either. you typically will want to configure the USB drive with both of them in the same "session" so the order doesn't really matter, just affects how they show up on the menu listing.
