Remapping Shortcuts in Ubuntu

So I'm running Ubuntu on a re-purposed mac, and I love using the Super + W and Super + A shortcuts.
I've noticed that OSX applies these behaviors to the F3 and F4 keys respectively, and as such has the keys labelled for these actions.

I would like to remap the Super + W shortcut to f3, and Super + A to F4 so that they function similarly to the volume keys, brightness, and play/pause/skip buttons.

It's just a "Gee this would be neat" kind of thing, but that's what linux is all about right?

Thanks guys!

Edit: I wasn't able to find the super W and super A shortcuts under Settings>Keyboard>Shortcuts

I don't know how to remap them, but you could add them in the shortcuts settings, then both will work.

I think this guide may help you, it shows you how to directly remap keys in the configuration files:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MultimediaKeys

So I followed the guide, When I hit the f3 key under "new" nothing happens, hitting all keys up through F7 result in the program not registering the press to map a shortcut to it.

I'm going to have to look for you, I was faced with a similar task.

I really appreciate it, it's not a deal breaker by any means, and aside from this and the webcam issues the macbook makes a perfect linux machine after you erase the OSX partition.

webcam issues?

Apple switched from the iSight usb based webcam to a broadcom PCI based webcam for the retina models, and all new machines. There's a current bug open to reverse engineer a driver, but it looks like it's a total of one guy working on it and progress is slow.

What kernel are you on? What distro?

Wiley Werewolf Ubuntu.

Here's the GitHub page talking about the in progress fix.
