Relocating Fios Router

Hay everyone, I am having a bit of trouble relocating my Verizon Fios Router(Verizon MI424WR router). It connects to a coax and works anywhere in my house. The problem is when i moved it my internet slows down a lot. I checked my Xbox to see if it was bad reception but i have full bars. Any ideas before calling customer support?BTW, this might not make a difference but i have Fios TV as well.

is the new area you put it in surrounded by a large amount of metal or other objects that could cause interference? make sure any cables/attachments in general are tightened and plugged in into the back... im not a fios guy, still on 10mbps internet in upstate new york, but the location of the router can relate to speed because of interference and things blocking good signal...

Where I have it now is basically a metal box in a closet. I'm guessing the Fios guy thought it was a good idea then but I want it out in the open and in the middle of my house. I was reading online and I think I know whats wrong. It was exactly what I did not want to hear. It might not be configured for the new coax. Now I have to call .
