New to the scene. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to get my pc to always be at 120hz(regular use & gaming). I am using a hdmi (newest standard) 1.4? According to windows 7 ultimate 64 bit(advanced display settings) the maximum refresh rate I can select is 60hz. I am using a samsung led 120hz tv (it has a vga input). Any advice on how to accomplish this or any opinions are welcome. I am running precision x and set my fps target to 120. I just want the best display I can get without damaging the tv. It may just be my hdmi doesn't support that refresh rate.
If you are using the latest HDMI standard, it shouldn't be HDMI. 1.4b added 1080p 3D support, and a requirement of that is 120Hz refresh rate.
I know TV's use some weird technology so they can advertise higher refresh rates than the TV actually supports, so maybe your TV doesn't actually natively support 120hz, I don't know. What's the model of your TV?
the model is: un40b6000vf
As far as I know most 120hz TVs won't accept a 120hz input, they are limited to 60hz. The 120hz is used for frame doubling and 3D. So unfortunately I don't think there's anything you can do.
damn that sucks if you are correct. my tv does not do 3d though.
