Recovering old data from dying HDD. [Completed]

Hello community, I'm requesting help for this problem I'm having.

[Short story] Roughly 2 years ago I've been having problems with my old PC(windows7) giving me blue screen after booting normally but not on safe mode. ever since I've been motivated to build my own after watching many tech channels on youtube. So here I am on my custom built PC but want to retrieve my files on the Old PC on 'Safe Mode' and back it up on my 1TB External Hard Drive.

the current problem is that the External drive won't appear on my old pc but my 1GB flash drives does. The old pc only allows me to boot on safe mode not 'Safe Mode with Networking' so uploading them to my Google Drive or any other Cloud service won't help. Is there any helpful suggestions in backing up my old Files ? Please if you need any more information on my situation ask away and I'll reply as much as possible.

[Note]

After scanning my old pc It showed up with failed results when scanning for the hard drive if that helps in any way.

attempting to recover Data/Files/Images etc from Old HP Desktop (Windows 7) through "SAFE BOOT"

"SAFE BOOT With NETWORKING" Leads up to bluescreen

i've found that sometimes when the computer cant read internal hard drives, it sometimes works if i take the drive out and put it in an external usb enclosure or adapter.

Live boot ubuntu/mint/whatever and do it that way. I personally use PartedMagic for tasks like this, as it has many tools already for this type of task and also loads into RAM so the disc drive/USB port is still available for use.

Thank you!, I managed to use PartedMagic  and saved so much time. :)
