Recording software help

I guess this can go here since I record games but not sure so let me know if there is a better place to post this. Ok so my issue is as follows:
I have my new PC built. It consists of the main components for gameplay/recording being a 4790k and a 980Ti as well as this capture card called an AVerMedia Live Gamer HD. I used to use camtasia as it was easy to record/edit the videos with their software suite but pursued more professional software, in this case OBS and Sony Vegas. I am learning how to edit with Vegas still and seem to have the hang of the editing part. OBS on the other hand has left me stumped as well as the rendering function in Vegas. I also have the Logitech C920 for facecam recording.
I want to be able to record 1080p 60fps for both the gameplay and the facecam but neither seem to be turning out that way. Could someone please guide me to the proper video settings in OBS as well as webcam software I could use to capture the webcam at the desired 1080p 60fps? If I have to scale the webcam down to 720p 60fps I am willing to do that as 720p is not terrible. Also if someone familiar with vegas could let me know what settings I need to render 1080p 60fps through vegas that would be wonderful.
To sum it up:
1. I want 1080p 60fps gameplay recording with OBS
2. 1080p/720p 60fps Facecam recording with whatever software is recommended
3. 1080p 60fps rendering settings from Vegas
4. Should I be using the capture card (Live Gamer HD) for something other than to record things such as xbox gameplay? (which I know isnt a full 60fps like ever, Ill let the card run with that one fps wise but still want close to 1080p)

EDIT: For my mic audio I use Audacity which I have 0 problems with.

Thanks for any help guys!

Hmm. First off, this is recording not streaming correct? I've never used a capture card so I'm unsure of what most people specifically use them for. I use FRAPS, but you have to register to actually record as the trial version only let's you do 30 second tests. I use FRAPS because Shadowplay (which you have, being a 980ti owner) is super convenient but it never picks up my mic very well, just everybody else's. And FRAPS let's you pick the resolution and FPS and it has better sound pickup from my mic. However, I've never tried to use a camera on myself while using FRAPS, so I'm unsure if that's possible. Sorry I can't answer specifically what you've asked, but maybe someone who's used more than myself can pick it up from here.

I use audacity for mine so audio is no issue. So you thing for PC gameplay I should try shadowplay then? I look at it long before I had this pc but never tried it, I'll check it when I get home. I think for the capture card I just use it for the consoles and use OBS purely for streaming again and shadowplay/possible camtasia to record again. Thanks, it is a start lol. Does shadowplay/frpas/camtasia record 60fps btw or do you know?

I'm unsure about Shadow Play. I'm certain FRAPS can do 40FPS and I'm 99% sure you can get 60FPS by using the custom FPS box where you set whatever you want. ShadowPlay doesnt have that option, just 30 and maybe 60. You'd have to check

Ok will do, thank man. To anyone else reading this thread any input is still welcome! Thanks!

OBS can record both webcam (YT video on how to) and 1080p at 60fps (video here or here) and even microphone if you want to.

I wanted audio seperate which is whY i let the recording program handle in game stuff but my mic is through audacity. Also I want more control over where my camera is placed and if I need to reposition it after I am done recording I am SOL if I use OBS to do so which is why I wanted another program to handle webcam recordning but dont know of any. Thanks tho. I'll checl the link for oba 1080p 60fps in a little bit.

I don't know much about webcam recording softwares, but you can use Windows Movie Maker or the software that comes with the webcam if there is.

I never tried logitechs software or mm, ill check them when I get home, thanks for the ideas

I did a quick download and it looks like the logitech software has as selection for 1080p but how do I tell if it is 60 fps? I guess I can just do a quick recording and see if it is as smooth as I want it but is there a way to tell exactly?

I did a bit of research and I found out that the c920 does indeed record at 60fps but ONLY on low resolution (anything below 720p).
I dunno maybe there's a way to force it.

so does it include rcording 60fps at 720 by a chance?
Here is the recent vlog I tried to do with it

I'm afraid not. You can double check on OBS, you should get something like this:

I know people have told me it is possible, thats why I ordered it... fishy... anyways I dont vlog much so I would be fine with a lower res, just need to find a good one to record with.
