Record Phone Calls via Phone Com Port

Hey Guys

I want to record my phone calls on my landline phone.  I know the law, and in New Zealand only one party (me) needs to consent for the call to be recorded.  Is it possible to use the normal phone com port on my HP Compaq 8510w?  If so what software would I need and how would I set it up.

Hope you guys can help me out.

Thanks

Yes! but it will require some low level hackery, or linux.....

however you are in luck! phones are damn simple. you two wires.... the phone will be at arround -48 volts normaly and then arround 90 while ringing. the phone uses two wires, and its ust an analog signal. so you can record it directly.

if you throw enough resistance to lower it to arround 1.5 volts, you can record it with any line level input. however the ring voltage will fuck your shit up.

you can get one of these however... http://www.amazon.com/BELL-SONECOR-Tele-Recorder-Adapter-Record-Playback/dp/B00006JPDB/ref=pd_cp_e_3
