Recommended Reading?

Hey Everyone,

I wouldn't call myself an advanced Linux user, but not exactly a noob either (been using it on and off since Ubuntu 8.10). I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good books on Linux to broaden my understanding of Linux as a whole and maybe become a more advanced user.

The Linux bible was one that came to mind.

Just looking for something interesting on Amazon(ca) to read.

Thanks!

The man pages and books on OS structures, some of the books give good comparisons to Windows based OS. Also an increased understanding in the different types of file systems available to the OS's. A good book to look at is something called Operating System Concepts by Abraham Silberschatz, Peter Baer Galvin, and Greg Gagne. Now the book can be a bit boring, but the information is incredibly useful in understanding the limits of operating systems today.

If you are only after Linux information, I'll repeat myself and add something. Man pages and try doing things with Linux, you only truly understand how to use Linux by seeing it work.

The Linux Bible :) One of my favorite books :) But go to that amazon link and read all of the recommended titles. How Linux Works: What Every Superuser Should Know and The Linux Command Line: A Complete Introduction are also great reads
