I've been listening to the soundtrack from Streets of Rage 2 and really love it. What other games have this style of music?
Adhesive Wombat - Marsupial Madness. Not a game sound track but I did happen upon it after watching the trailer for superHOT.
There is also an app in android called Chipper. It has a catalogue of chiptunes from cracks and hack games. Thousands of them and some are really good.
Edit: Something else I have been listening to a lot is Retro Remix Revue. They play old NES and a few Sega songs but as a real professional band. They had two albums with just stunning music.

Based on the first song I'm listening to right now, Adhesive Wombat looks like something I'm gonna love. Thanks for the suggestion! I also really love the soundtrack from Wario Land 4 but there is no place to get it in high quality. Not really a fan of instrumental covers but those guys do have some talent.

Haha that game was so addictive when it came out, I probably have more time in that than all other mobile games combined. The music was epic as well.

Listened to all of it lol. Great soundtracks. I actually have DKC 1 and 2 but probably list to the music more than play the games, they are fantastic games though.
For me, the first sound track is pure epic-ness.

Glad you like the music. The MotorStorm soundtrack was epic. I still have a copy of it because I miss it.
EDIT: Again not game music but 80's style chiptune and synth music Kavinsky. Kind of like Hotline Miami music.

I love neo 80s style music, I'm all over Kavinsky and another artist called Carpenter Brut. Hotline Miami did have a KILLER soundtrack as well. Where did you get the soundtrack for motor storm? I would love to pick that up.
