Recommend me some Cowboy or Revolt themed PC Games

CANT BE BOTHERED READING A LOT??.. SCROLL TO THE LAST PARAGRAPH!

I've come across Homefront: The Revolution today on steam and it just made me think back to when I played Fallout 3 and RAGE. Brilliant games, even though I somehow prefered RAGE moreover Fallout (I gave up playing the game when I found out, I need to find another 3 vaults), but I enjoyed the idea of fighting against a dystopian (evil) authority.

I also once played a Cowboy game a few years ago. It was called Gun and I think it just went really underrated now, which may explain for why it is so hard to find it on Google, but I am sure some people may remember the game. It was my first cowboy themes game, and I loved it, and I always wished to play another game like that, Open world, Western, Riding horses, shooting.... RED DEAD REDEMPTION, you may say, well yes, good recommendation, it does look fun, I always wanted to try that, but it is not on PC, and I don't have a console other than the Xbox 360, I believe its pointless buying another console.

If you know any games themed like what I mention PLEASE share them! I`m sure many people will love you for it.

Companies need to star releasing Open world western / cowboy and racing games for PC. Thats where the real money is. Why are companies limiting game platforms to consoles for games like this? F*** you Microsoft, not everyone wants to play on a console!

Infact I`ve thought of making my own Cowboy game with Unreal or Unity FOR PC. (But there's a learning curve that is creating a barrier against me really wanting to do that).

RECAP

Please recommend me some PC games where you fight against a dystopian (evil) authority. Like Fallout 3 and RAGE, or Cowboy / Western style games like Gun and Red Dead Redemption...

Many thanks,
SS

When u read Revolt and PC game I think back to around 2000...

Otherwise, have you checked Dishonored?
If you are a gimmick fan, you may try There Came An Echo...
Xcom and the second one are quite nice...
Hm... If I think of something else I will add more titles...

Borderlands series, Bioshock infinite, Metro series, Call of Juarez bound in blood, Gun, would be my recommendation.

DISHONORED! Fantastic game I would have mentioned in my post if it came to mind, I have played it, and it made me look everywhere for Assassin / Stealth games like it. Recommendations for those types of games would absolutely be much appreciated as well. I`d like to note though, that I have played almost every Assassins Creed game, and Thief.

There Came An Echo is not my type of game. Don't get me wrong, I like strategy games, but mainly the empire building type of strategy games, and nothing ever beat The Settlers: Heritage of Kings in my opinion.

XCOM I shall look into now, the trailer looks interesting. Thanks a lot for the recommendations.
Yes please share anything else you think of!

There Came An Echo is a simpler Xcom with voice commands...

I played Borderlands before and I died on the first boss constantly, which made me give up on the game entirely. The flamethrower is just too deadly and his little helper is extremely annoying.

Bioshock infinite, is a brilliant game. I already played it, not sure about the other Bioshocks and if they are worth playing.

Metro definitely does look fun, I will probably be playing it thank you. I can't tell the difference between Redux and Last Night though.

Call of Juarez I'm not sure about. I`ve heard it's not really open world..

Thank you a lot though! I appreciate the help.

Looking at more images of There Came An Echo, I think I may actually consider playing it, it looks a lot more fun than I thought. What put me off at first was that it isnt 1st person nor 3rd (but camera from directly behind the player)

Thank you

Id like to add, Im stupid for not noticing both XCOMs aren't constantly 1st or 3rd person the way I`d like it to be, but it does look like a game worth playing.

Do you think this is a game worth playing before, or after the XCOM series? Seeing as it`s just a simpler version. Is the story the same or different?

There Came An Echo is about conspiracy and hacking and cloning etc...
It is extremely simple game. However, what makes it fun is the voice commands.
Basically you control the game entirely with voice. Even the menus. Everything can be voice commanded. If you get into it, it really feels like you are a commander of a squad using radio to tell them what to do.
Xcom is freaking difficult. The first one is defending against aliens, the second one is taking the world back from the aliens. But it's way more complex and deep and difficult.

Exactly my thought,Dissapointed.I played this game so much ,so frustrating and so rewarding at the same time. Toyeca ,Adeon and Dr Grudge in my heart still.

Reinstalling Dishonored for another play through. I never finished the DLC so gunna do that this time.

Rage was an amazing game, I still play it from time to time, I liked it more than the Bethesda's Fallout overall as well.

It's old and not open world, but Outlaws is a fun game if you like old school FPS.

(review is old, on GOG now and runs well)

I would say the Red Faction: Guerrilla has the spirit of a western.

Also check out Fist Full of Frags, western themed multiplayer FPS that's free on steam.

The only cowboys game I've ever played was Desperados and I absolutely loved it! It's a strategy turn-based game.
