Some Hong Kong action flicks like Hard Boiled (Jon Woo) and Supercop/Police Story (Jackie Chan) are great.
Also, seeing Luc Besson mentioned earlier, the two District 13 movies are fun. (In French, English subbed)
Quentin Tarantino films are nice, i think just everything from him might be worth a shot. (disclaimer, i have not watched all his stuff)
