Reaver Error: [!] Warning: Failed to associate with (MAC ADDRESS)

I get this error when I am trying to hack my wifi. I wanted to test the security of my Westell Versalink 327W (back from 2006) It is an old fart which is soon to be getting replaced actually today. I decided to try hacking other people's wifi, just to see if it would associate which did. After the first few seconds I cut the attack off and tried on mine again  same error as usual.

This is what I am using: "reaver -i mon0 -b 00:00:00:00:00:00 -vv"

I don't know if I did it right or not.

mon0 needs to be the wireless device, possibly wlan0.

The MAC address also needs to be the MAC address of the target Access Point.

You will also need to drop the wireless card into monitor mode.
