Really impressed with Windows 10 LTSB

So it might also check misstyped passwords? ;-)

Basically, if you're really concerned about security you could use a more secure operating system.
CEntOS is pretty tight, i know some pretty serious security firms that use CEntOS routinely for their staff.
If you're wanting to go down the route of crack-snorting tin-foil-hat-wearing paranoia, there's Qubes.

I don't trust Microsoft, but then I don't use Windows for day to day computing at home.

yeah i know, I do toy with Linux now and then, but there are a few things that limit me from going over full time. On my gaming pc it is VR. On my laptops, i tend to do development in .net, play games and other excuses. Laptop is best candidate, and when i run out of excuses, I will switch over.

Reading your question made me think that I don't specifically want an OS with enhanced security, I just want one without compromised privacy. Is that too much to ask? :)

Apparently in this day and age, it is.

One of the reasons I worry a bit less about it than perhaps I should is that I've got a FaceBook account, and my email provider is Google.

What privacy, right?
