Really crazy PC behavior

EDIT: I fixed it now. All I did was clear the cmos and replace some cables.

It seems like I have an endless stream of bad luck when it comes to computers

My PC started not wanting to turn on unless I had anti-surging disabled in my motherboard BIOS, then it started no wanting to turn off. All this weird stuff kept happening until one day it completely died like this:

So I thought "must be the power supply"
after a really long and exepensive RMA I get a brand new power supply. And guess what, same problem.

So I would think that the problem is my motherboard. Have any of you guys seen something similar or do you have any advise? (can't test on another motherboard without buying one)

If I do have to buy a new one I think I might get the GIGABYTE GA-Z68A-D3H-B3.

more weirdness:
For some reason, the LEDs will keep shining even when there is no power. (also tried just ripping out the cable)

(spec list):

  • Asus p8z77-v lx
  • Intel i7 3770k
  • corsair RM850 (new one is RMX850)
  • R9 290
  • 8gb Corsair ram
  • Samsung 840 Evo 120gb
  • Some random harddisks
  • Windows 10

The first link does not work for me.
The second one is a little scary.

Alright, should be fixed.

I think your computer is posessed bro lol.

But really I think this is the mobo Seems like at some point the board gave itself a closed loop so it keep a charge like a battery. I've seen this in a server before and it was wierd.

Did the components still work?, because I am afraid that this whole ordeal has fucked my hardware.

We had to buy a new board but the other parts worked yeah. Its just a closed circuit with the power supply being a buffer. New mobo you should be good. (The board we had to get was like 450 though so kek you're lucky :P)

If you don't smell smoke you're good. Sorta.
