Hello,
I'm writing this post just to ask if anyone has an issues with the Razer Synapse software?
I got a Razer Blackwidow Chroma keyboard the other day and since installing the software my PC freezes randomly.
This wouldn't be much of an issue if the keyboard has onboard memory but it doesn't, therefore I must keep the software running at all times or the lighting is useless. I've tried speaking to tech support at Razer who reviewed my program data, but they can't see any issues.
Which is why I am asking the question here to see if I am the only one experiencing said issues.
Thanks,
Jack.
I have had many issues with Synapse. I used it once to set up my keyboard and now I never open synapse because it causes major issues with my keyboard mouse and mic all of which are Razer. I found that if you set up the lighting and then use task manager to force close Synapse the lighting will stay the way you had it. I just told it to not open at the start of windows before doing that to avoid future problems.
I'll give that a try thanks!
Its a real hit and miss thing. On my laptop it works horribly and keeps a status bar in the top left of my screen and wont go away until a restart and crashes constantly. On my desktop though it seems to work great and sync my data properly. I would try a different version if @Savagebutton 's idea doesnt work.
Thats good to hear, I love razer products, I could do without their software sometimes lol
Do you have any idea why they chose to avoid onboard memory? Just seems to cause more issues than it solves.
they wanted it to be so if you had multiple pcs with razer gear, like myself, then you sign into one account, configure once, and bam everything is there which is lovely when it works. Internal memory would mean whenever you got a new device, got a spare keyboard for another pc, whatever you would have to re configure all your settings. They tried they really did.
hmm yeah that makes sense :) might have been better to combine onboard memory with the sync software.
Yeah with a sort of backup/multiple profile per device option on the device. The only issue there is accidental overwriting of the data ont heir servers if your device fails to sync properly for whatever reason.
After trying out @Savagebutton's suggestion my PC crashed again. I have noticed that when it crashes I hear the windows sound when a USB is removed.
maybe its more of a driver issue with the device? try going into device manager and uninstalling the device, restart the machine, then plug it back in.
will do :)
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, then running synapse again, its still crashing. Right now I'm confused as to whether my keyboard is defective or if its a software issue.
Don't mix with Logitec hardware. It is hit or miss. I haven't had the issues most of the time. However, when it does act up. Gotta rip it out of device manager and remove ghost drivers, possibly the Razer directories left over. Similar to an AMD driver removal.
Yeah Synapse is special to work with, real special. I have the Chroma KB+M and from pestering me to randomly crashing its been a party. It doesn't happen often and turning of the Razer fart helps immensely.
I used a Razer keyboard, now I use Logitech because of that CrasherSynapse!
Tried this out and so far so good, although I may need more time to see if it has fixed things.
Great! It will be good to see how things go. Corsaire keyboards tend to play nice with Razer I have noticed.
