Lol i assumed you had one, but i see that you didnt mention if you had one or not.
I actually bought mine on eBay a few months ago.
I have not had any overheating whatsoever and I have the GTX 675MX overclocked. (+ 135 MHz Clock Speed + 750 Mhz Memory Clock) I have yet to come across any faulty keys. They feel really sturdy. So much so that when I try to convert back to my desktop keyboard ( Razer Deathstalker Ultimate) I feel that they keys are going to break right off. The hinges are extremely sturdy and are quite stiff. Personally I don't think any laptop or even desktop you get is going to "last" 7 years when it comes to gaming.
If I had my camera recording the other night I would have been able to give you a drop test! I fell asleep with the laptop on my bed and when I woke up in the morning it was on the floor. I would say it fell around 2 feet onto a hardwood floor and I can honestly say that the floor took more damage then the laptop.

You could also consider the MSI GS70 (the newest model is comming out soon and reviewers have had their hands on them), their customer care is the worst thing in the world, but contacting your etailer should be enough for any problems (most of the time they'll deal with msi). Its like .2 in thicker but it can give you a 17'' size with a bigger screen for programming (if you a computer engineer) or just more sceen realestate for the same price. At $1799 it comes with one 128 SSD and a 750 Gb HDD or a $1999 model with raid 0 mSATA 128Gb SSD's and a 1TB HDD.
MSI has always packed a good amount of features for the price, they have Killer-Network ethernet port and the wireless antennae aswell as a steelseries designed keyboard. I have a GT60 ONE with a GTX680 and I'm in love with the key board... sadly my model was of the first few and i didnt get the upgrade to Killer-Network wireless antennae :(
Laptops are hard to buy but I hope you find one that suits you perfectly.
