I was editing a few images in RAWtherapee and I never managed to get the exported files to look exactly like what I was editing. That is ... not good. Is there anyone here using RAWtherapee?
RAWTherapee is not very optimized. If you set it into using full RAW images, it is WYSIWYG, but it's super slow. The reason why it's normally not WYSIWYG, is because you're only seeing a compressed preview.
If you want real deep full control over RAW conversion, use Digikam, it's the most comprehensive out there. Darktable is also pretty good. On modern high resolution camera RAW files though... there will always be annoying preview lag to some degree. Darktable, when used with a powerful GPU, will offer the best performance of any RAW editor on any platform.
OK, gonna give those a shot. Probably on a USB-drive so I don't have to install all the KDE stuff with Digikam.
It will work under Gnome, it will just require Qt, but chances are you'll have that anyway already.
Well I am on unity and apt said something about half a gig of stuff. So I noped out of that.
