Rate my build please?

Primarily gaming, editing, productivity.

I'd be willing to spend $50 - $100 more on something if it would make a HUGE difference.

I'll be buying parts for my build in a couple weeks. Just looking for input. Thanks!

Change that powersupply. You need to get Seasonic, Corsair or XFX.

Ok cool. Why specifically?

I would suggest getting one of these because they are trustable companies.  If you want a better rating get the second one because honsetly both are overkill for your system from what I know. Unless you plan on doing a bunch of upgrades in the future

Not to mention OCZ bailed out of the PSU business a while back.

For the same price (or less, if you count the rebate) you can get a Corsair HX650 which is a really good psu.

I understand, but the OCZ I chose is an 80 plus unit right? Doesn't it have to

meet a certain standard to achieve that? I'm not arguing, just wondering if there

is a specific reason this OCZ's rating is somehow not as trustworthy as another.

The Corsair Hx650 is 80 plus bronze

The Seasonic G 550 is 80 plus gold

The Corsair Cx series is 80 plus bronze

The ratings from worst to best are:

not certifed

[3]

AND, even though it's rated at that, it doesn't always mean it's a good unit. Is a CoolMax PSU 600W 80+ Bronze Modular a good PSU? No. You also have to look at the company who sells or makes the units. CoolMax and Raidmax are ones I'd stay away from. I'd use Seasonic, Antec, Corsair or XFX instead

Ok makes sense. Any red flags from the other parts?

For RAM I'd suggest one of these because of CAS on the first one (Mushkin Blackline ) or better speed (G Skills) or the third one for both of those but at

Mushkin    http://pcpartpicker.com/part/mushkin-memory-997050

GSkill        http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f314900cl10d16gbxl

Corsair      http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-memory-cmz16gx3m2a1866c9

Just going to put it out there that the Corsair HX650 is gold rated.  Older versions were 80 plus bronze or silver, I forget but it totally depends on where you're buying it from I guess.

Thanks, I was just going with what part picker had it listed as

Because of my CPU cooler I need low profile memory for clearance. I really wanted

a big air cooler but need a low profile because the case I have won't fit a tall one. I also

like that my cooler will supply air to the memory. Looks like the Mushkin would fit though?

Thanks everyone for the comments. Anything else jumping out at anyone?
