Raspberrypi operating system for desktop use?

My cousin threw a RaspberryPI my way, god only knows why... Im looking for a use for it, and after watching a few videos a sorta came to the idea that i wanna use it for my dads desktop computer. Im guessing there is some distro of Linux that will install on a RaspberryPi?
