So I want to make my Raspberry Pi into a Wifi hotspot that uses my internet. I make a wifi hotspot that neighbours can use without using a hell lot bandwidth. Now I want to have the least amount of wires plugged into the PI. Other words only plug a monitor/keyboard/mouse/Ethernet when installing the OS to the PI and setting up SSH server. Now this all can be google online but, the way I want to set it up is not easy to find on Youtube or any Linux forms. There should only be an SD card(containing OS) ,Micro USB ( To power the Pi) and, 2 wifi adapters when the system is all setup up. Yes, there is Youtube videos on this but the Tek Syndicate's YouTube channel explains Linux a lot better than other youtube channels. If you are wondering what PI model it is the B+ so try to plug in as many wifi adapters as possible.
Maybe the Youtube Channels Hak5, Nixie Pixel, and quidsup could help make this little Pi hotspot/honeypot project work.
If you wonder why I am doing this is that my neighbours (old people) call me over to their house to fix some computer problem.
You still will run into problems with power; The rpis can not supply enough power via USB for some wlan dongles.. yet alone multiples. A powered USB HUB can solve that problem - some not USB complient ones, return power through the host plug, which actually can even power the PI without the microUSB pluged in.
Thank you. The Fruity Wifi should work out but it's really Malicious software if people learn how to use it. I was thinking the kind admin security hosting Honeypot not and I quote, "Nessus is a vulnerability scanner. With this module it is possible to scan hosts from FruityWifi without using the Nessus interface. We can discover the vulnerabilities present on each of the hosts to understand the attack surface and compromise them"
Nice part it has a GUI interface to it and I will not have program it myself. Thanks Th3Z0ne.
Why trap people into using your wifi than? - sorry for me the word honeypot in conjunction with Wifi screams man in the middle... ;)
I would not say it's malicious software, as it does not do any harm on its own - a virus is malicious and does its unholy work on its own, this one is a hotspot with extras ;)
