I'm sick and tired of this new comment system. Not only does it force you to make a Google+ account and tie it to your YouTube account, It also will not work for me. I made the damn Google+ account and tied it to YouTube; but when I click the "Share your thoughts" box, I get a popup window for about half a second that does absolutely nothing except close itself. Then I cant comment on the damn video and have to move on.
It might just be me, but probably not. I say if you are to force something on people, at the very least make sure it works. It is good that there is a website for Tek Syndicate so I can express my views on the videos, however, this is the only channel I watch that has its own site. Thus, I cannot provide commentary on the other channels, which slightly angers me.
I suppose I was not angry enough to put down more words, but I got my anger out anyways. Hopefully they can fix this or someone will provide a fix for it.
Yea the notification system is broken I couldn't figure out how to view comments that I posted the actual YouTube website, only could reply in the "notification box" under the little bell. I don't care about Google+ but I wished it was more organized. Google+ by itself is confusing. There's really no point in it at all...ok I'm done
I've not had any issues with that and have actually found that on Chrome it's much easier to use. I mean, sure it could use another "Mark As Spam" or maybe a "Mark as troll" button on the side to cut down on the amount of trolling/Youtube dumbassery but it seems OK if you ask me. If I'm absolutely honest I love that when someone replies/comments or +1s my videos I can see it instantly. The old system of having to go to dashboard-> Inbox or some other path to see mail was just ridiculous. At the end of it all though it is still a free service that you can use or not use at your own will. If you don't like the new system you can simply stop using it. No one is forcing you to do anything at all.
Thats not actually true though is it. In the strictest sense you are right. But lets not play a smart ass here GaiusH ... Youtube is the ONLY real site for videos in the world with the level of exposure and features it has. There are some others slowly creeping forward but the sad (seriously sad) fact is that in the age of the internet of all things no geek or company or group of people can get together and even half compete with youtube.
Chat, blogs, tweets, music, art, games, cooking = covered, millions of websites
videos/movies/tv = piss poor.
Furthermore id argue that google doesnt force but it spends BILLIONS globally every year promoting itself, pushing itself into your google mail box, war driving the streets and taking wifi keys and mapping the front of your house and anything in it the top down satellite view of your house without asking permission, taking your work and home wireless key from your andriod phone (one of only 3 vendor lock ins) and you have no recourse, taking your GPS posistion, selling ad's after reading your emails
.. terrible privacy breaches taken for granted.
Google are everywhere and when you consider google glasses as another major privacy breach you must also consider that they OWE you some service and if you don’t want it then they OWE you your privacy back.
