Hi,
I felt like voicing my opinion concerning the existential questions the TekSyndicate team seem to have been asking themselves recently concerning the type of content they should be making.
I started following Tek Syndicate after the Asus Zenbook Prime replacement video. Tek Syndicate has been my favorite channel since. I guess I like the Hacker Space vibe you guys got going, even if you've toned it down a lot, I feel...
I come to listen to what you guys have to say because I think that your subversive opinions about what is going wrong in the US is very important. All the crap which happens in the US impacts the rest of the world at some point or the other in time and it is important for people to voice their discontent with what is going on. If it weren't for you guys doing all the journalistic work and resuming it in a video once a week, I'd have to do for myself, which I don't happen to have to time to do.
For the time being, I do have a few loose ties with our local branch of the Pirate Party. Therefore, having your perspectives on American tech policies and business practices is an invaluable source of information.
I am sick and tired of people acting like yes men, defending big corporations and their unethical behavior, and these people are everywhere, sucking up to them, as if they were thinking that those people's interests were their own! Big greedy corporations don't need help defending themselves. People should try rooting for the underdog more often, they might see that there is only true glory when winning over a greater opponent. No to mention, I’d say that’s a more realistic approach to life, because in conflict, rarely do you find yourself on the side with the advantage.
I am a firm believer in the maxim -"Evil prevails when good men fail to act". There’s also -“Science without conscience is but the ruin of the soul”. which I think isn’t flung around enough to my taste.
That is why I beg of you: Please do not change the way you do you things. I really think you guys get it. Your parents raised you right. You have good values and good expectations as to the world around you. That is what I think make you better patriots than most, because it is by criticizing and by demanding more from your country that you show that you truly do care.
You guys have common sense, and in this day and age, there isn't enough of it laying around.
The content I do want to see coming from you (and what brought me here in the first place) are the guides, the hacks, the technology news, the rants and the hardware analysis. I value your opinions on hardware, software and ethics. Basically, that is where I feel lies your best value. Even the enterprise class stuff is just fine as for a hardware standpoint. Even if I might not buy it, it gives perspective on what is out there. Not to mention, you have good ideas on what to do with it.
What I do not like, on the other hand, are your review of commercial products. As I consider myself an enthusiast, I really have no interest at all your case reviews, headphone reviews, fan and motherboard reviews. I've already got all of those and what I've got is what I consider to be the best stuff out there. It just so happens that I'm looking on changing my mouse for the 1st time since 2008, so I did look at a few of those, even though they seemed meh because a mouse is such an important piece of hardware, it's so personal you've got to try it for yourself.
However, software, comparisons and configuration reviews are way more interesting. Basically, I don't see the point of you guys reviewing products unless they're absolutely exceptional and out of the ordinary. That is why, for instance, I'm waiting impatiently for Qain's take on the Linksys WRT 1900AC.

Anyways, keep up the good work. Don’t listen to the people who say you should shut up and stop complaining. Tell them to go bother Linus instead. Please tone down the pitch for boring commercial products.
See you guys later. ++
