Not to mention that Apple Pay isn't available in a most countries......
No one says you have to stop having a wallet. If people want to use their phone to pay for stuff then why should that bother you?
True. The only issue i have is that i would like to get rid of the wallet and do what they advertise but i cant
Not only that but shitty battery , and I have my head in the clouds so at least once a week I forget my phone because it's charging.
But it's not replacing cash , it's just there to supplement it , eg : in a taxi in a new country , you don't have an unlimited amount of local cash , so maybe you pay by phone then .
kinda agree.
The problem with that is that Apple Pay isn't supported in every country.
But there are many similar services like apple pay. Im talking world wide that this technology is not there yet. There are many things that but be considered before cash and how to spend it.
haven't they had this in japan for years?
Yes.
Also I am a bit confused. Everyone is claiming that ApplePay will spur companies to start accepting NFC payments. Gonna have to stop you there- don't they already do that?
I mean, at least in my experience, nearly every store I go into has the ability to use Tap and Pay. Hell even my debit card has NFC build in. I use it and Google Wallet on my phone all the time. For payment or discount cards at grocery stores the lot.
shhh. You clearly aren't drinking the Apple cool-aid. Remember that Apple has to be the originator of new technologies like smartphones, tablets, trash cans and now smart-watches. It has to originate from Apple otherwise peoples emotional and monetary investments will shatter their self-esteem and their ability to stand out in the line up at Starbucks.
Seriously though, it irritates me that all the news coverage I've seen illustrates the that NFC and NFC payment systems, haptic touch feedback, and larger format phones are all but unheard of. From the news sources I go to most tech writers have a massive pro-apple bias.
most people i know don't know what NFC is... even those who use android.
I would much rather see a 2 step varification for credit cards. I feel funny about both being in the same device if you choose (probally backed up in the cloud) ... It seems like with every passing year consumer technology standards are making it easyer for thevies on a massive scale
