Random black screen and red cpu light on motherboard

Hi, I recently built a PC and it works fine for the most part but one or two times a day, my display will black screen and the red CPU status light on the motherboard lights up. Here are the specs:

CPU: Ryzen 9 7950x (Cooler: Thermalright PA 120 SE)

Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 GAMING X AX (BIOS version F9a)

RAM: Corsair Vengence 32GB DDR5 5600MHz

PSU: 750W Corsair RM750e

GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 6700 XT Pulse 12GB

I have tried reassembling everything with no luck. It’s worth noting that the CPU is used (the guy who sold it, had it for a month and decided to get a threadripper instead so potentially suspect. But I thought it would be very difficult to mess up a cpu). I’ve ran memtest and it passed and also tried disabling xmp but problem persisted.

I’m trying to go though amd warranty for the cpu but they are proving to be rather difficult even though I have provided an invoice which the seller happily forwarded to me.

Is there anything else I can try if the warranty route fails? Is the psu enough? Running out of ideas.

Additional info: Cleared CMOS (I removed the battery when the motherboard was disconnected from power, is this correct?) and RAM is in slots A2/B2. Issue happens on windows and linux.

you can see if it might be a problem with the socket. Take out the cpu and see if all the pins are in working order.

It looks in order to me but then again I may not know what I am looking for. I can attach images but it may be hard to tell from an image.
