RAMDISK For Audio Playback?

I don't know what section this query comes under so I chose this one, if it should go elsewhere let me know.

I've used Foobar for a long time now and is my fave audio player. I have a few added DSP's. However I did see a RAMDISK component and I don't understand whether or not having audio played back from RAM will be any better.

Can someone explain this to me, Is it just for low end machines with slow hard drives or does a RAMDISK improve audio playback?

Not really since music files are so small relatively speaking. But if you experience unwanted pauses then look for a playback buffer setting in Foobar and increase it. Haven't run Foobar for a while so I can't give a more specific hint on where the setting might be.
