According to this

the RAM I have picked out has too high a voltage for the CPU I have picked out?  Is this bad?

get ram that is 1.5v

So it is bad?

saved you a little bit of cash and ram with same speed, 8GB, cas latency 9 and low profile too!

I'm afraid it has to be a Dominator series. :/  For this:

Awesome!  Thanks for all the help!

yea that info would have helped lol.

I couldnt seem to find the exact dominator 8gb 2x4gb 1.5v on partspicker or newegg. The platinum series doesntlook like it would work with the EK block. You might have to buy directly from corsair.

exact ram (costs more but required for that EK block) he is using in the how to install video on the same link you sent. he removes the heatsinks due a water block doing the cooling anyways.

For stability reasons I would definitely get 1.5v, can't guarantee the 1.65v to work properly. It will end up downclocking which is not what you want it to do.

enjoy that setup
