Not really. They will still work together just fine. The point behind getting a matched set from the beginning is that they are the sticks with the least amount of variation between them, so they may actually perform better. But you won't notice any huge differences either way.

if you buy 2 sepperate but  the same modules, then it doesnt matter, but  mostly a kit is cheaper, then 2 sepperate modules, thats why they called a kit
