I have 8gb vengeance ram that i want to overclock. im currently running it on 1600mhz but i want to run it higher. Only thing is my cpu only supports up to 1600mhz, yet ive heard of people achieving over 2000mhz on the same processor (3570k). How do they do this?
Sorry I'm not much help, I don't know how to do it on newer boards, but I too have the same ram, I overclocked mine once and yielded no increase in performance (probably because I have an old intel), i guess the memory controller is now on chip on intels too, so it might help.
I reccomend you keep voltages on auto for the moment, and add little by little, losing the timings and increasing frequency in bios (though i don't know how since there's no fsb, just multiplier).
@ tropiko any higher than 1600 mhz and you fry the cpu. I did it once and luckily my motherboard auto shut off and after resetting the Cmos everything worked (thankfully) i was just wondering if there was a way of getting the memory controller higher
