Hello, I am currnetly building a gaming PC in a few weeks and was curious what my Ram Latency should be and speed should be. I will be use my PC for some editing, thing like Montages and Gaming. What I am trying to find out is what type of ram i should get. I know i want to get 8GB (2x4GB) of Ram, but just can't see how fast i need it to be for some edititing and gaming. I looked at 8GB 2400MHz and 8GB 1866MHz and they where the same price and not on sale. So as you can see I am all over the place about Ram on what type to get and speed etc... It would be great for you help if you can and well apriciatded.

CL9, 1600Mhz will do you fine. If you want, you can go a little higher to 1866Mhz or so, but its not neccasary. If you want, you can read this article on RAM speed.

its always best to have a lower latency for editing and rendering... 1600 cas7-9 are great options.. even with an OC on the ram from the bios you can bump up the Mhz for gaming and keep a good timing on the latency for the editing and etc.hope this helps your above question as well
