Anyone else notice the crazy rise in ram recently? I mean it really shot up in the last month or so anyone know why?
Here's an exmaple, I got this same stick for 25-30 bucks 4 months ago! It's a bit crazy!
I believe that RAM production slowed down and recently there was a fire in a RAM factory in China. Remember the flooding in Thailand and HDDs rocketing up in price? I think the same thing will happen here.

The factory fire was a hynix nand flash factory. The kind of nand used in ssds/ gpus i think.

I remember paying around 350 for decent ram back in the day. RAM is still cheap.
Somewhat related. I get a laugh whenever I pull the extended memory out of my closet from the first PC is used at age 4 or 5.
It was a massive 128KB, 1 inch thick, 4-5 inches tall, and about 2 feet long. I don't how much it cost, but I bet my parents paid like 500 bucks for it back in the 80's
