Ram compatibility

when looking at my motherboard there's a compatibility for ram dimms, is that really an issue? is it possible for ram at a clock that is supported to not work with a motherboard, or can any ram that fits in the clock work?

Depends on how fussy the board is. Just make sure that if your board only supports 1.5v dimms then only get 1.5v dimms, 1.6v dimms may not allow you to boot. The ddr3 speeds - 2133, 1866 etc and their associated timings are just saved as a XMP on the ram itself - these profiles are then loaded in the bios. By default most boards will set the ddr3 ram to 1333.

thanks, i was worried, but it looks to be completely compatible with the specs.
