The mobo I'm thinking of buying, as bloodrunk knows, does not have a raid controller built in. Thats why I'm thinking of maybe buying one. If I did do raid, I would only do 2 500 gb western digital 7200 rmp drives. Is there a good raid card out there that only supports 2 hd's, is cheap enough, and does sata II at 3 gb's per second?
yea here:http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3825446&CatId=1455
im so tired
yes it does have a raid controller, it supports raid 0, raid 1, raid 0+1, raid 5.
jsut download the raid drivers, pop em on a flopppy (or thumb drive, tho i dunno if the mobo supports it, havent tried) and when prompted, push the required function key
it does support raid? humph. well, i guess i was wrong!
that it does my friend!
save yourself a few bucks!
now wait where can i download the raid drivers? is it in the latest version of the bios?
it should be posted on the gigabyte website, under the support section.
ya know hat it seems i spoke too soon, it is not posted on the GA website...
maybe the EP35 doesnt support raid, i may eb thinking of the original p35 ds3l.
ah well, thats fine. i wasn't planning to do raid anyways, but if i do end up doing it, i guess ill just buy a raid controller
lol alrighty
Raid is obsolete man
