Radeon™ RX 7800 XT Gpu passthrough til hypervisor/ Amd reset bug and Vdisplay

I was going to try Gpu passthrough to hypervisor with Radeon RX 7800 XT. But it turns out that RX 7800 XT also suffers from Amd reset bug.

Then it automatically activates Amd vDisplay so I don’t get any video out to physical screen through hdmi or displayport.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to disable vDisplay or is RX 7800 XT just garbage for Gpu passthrough?

I still believe part or all of the problem is with Windows. Here is why, about 2 years ago when I was running Windows in a VM, Windows would restart just fine without lockup about 80% of the time. And then one day MS updated Windows and every reboot after would trigger a lockup. Because of this I associate the lockup problem with Windows.

Make what you will about this since it is only what I experienced.

You would be incorrect. Since I made that post I am now an active employee of AMD, and I can state without a doubt that it’s a hardware issue, not software.

If an update to windows caused it to become less stable, it’s just a coincidence.
