Does anyone happen to know off hand the length and width dimensions of the die? I’ve searched and read a ton of articles that only give the die area. In the GamersNexus teardown video Steve didn’t measure the die like he usually does.
I have an upcoming project where I want to test stock vs re-padding (a specific brand) and using a Thermal Grizzly Kryosheet instead of paste, which I would need to order the correct dimensions without getting the 50mmx50mm size, unless of course the 5700 XT die length requires it.
Techpowerup has a pictures of PCBs in their reviews, you can try using Inkscape or something to measure it since PCI-e length is known-ish. You can even use multiple reviews to try and minimize the error and possibly try and find more components with known dimensions.
Use known die area to try and verify your measurements.
Well, I’m getting 15mm x 18mm based on the 12mm x 14mm Micron memory chips, but that would make the GPU die 270mm² when spec says that it is 251mm². Odd.
Either way, I can get the 25mm x 25mm Kryosheet and cut down with less waste.
Thank you. That is very kind of you, but I think I’m good. The smallest precut Kryosheet is 12mm x 24mm, so it would be too small. 25x25 is the next size up.
For posterity wouldn’t hurt, though, as I’d end up necroing the post by the time I get to this project.
