Rack cases don't fit into Cabinet?!?

Hi guys. Yesterday i bought a used rack cabinet. I found out that both of my rack cases with the railing mounts don’t fit. I am not talking about the depth but about the width.

Cabinet: Lanpro 1550x600x600 mm
Case: X-Case 4000 Big Open 4u, X-Case EXtra Value RM 424

About 1mm on both sides too wide.

Left side

Right side

There is no way i can extend. The railing mount screws onto the chasis where the supports are welded. So no moveing here.

WTH is this bullshit i thought Enterprise gear has standard. I guess not.
Well what’s the next most logical thing to do here?

Some more pictures to visualise the racks and cabinet easier.

That cabinet looks pretty old, it's possible it may not have been manufactured with the greatest quality control in mind. Do the rails mount in using cage nuts? Usually there is a fair bit of play you can coax out of those, maybe make up the difference. If nothing else you may just have to modify the the rack by removing the posts and drilling new holes with the proper width.

I had something like that in mind yes. Just wanted to show and ask if anybody has a better idea. The rails are mouthed with a plate and screws. I played around with that and no luck still to tight.

The last idea i had is to go with a grinder and grind down just a bit of the rail mount. This way the distance between the pari of rails will be bigger.

That's also a fair suggestion but i'd be careful with grinding the actual rails, sometimes the engineering margins on those are quite thin and you don't want to take off too much material, might end up with your server crashing to the bottom of your rack down the road. Are there ball-bearing in the rails? If so make sure you layer it up with painters tape before grinding, don't want metal flakes getting jammed into the bearings.

Hard to tell but it looks like if you take the rails off it will fit? Not the best way to go, but IIRC technically the 19" spec is across the outer limits of each ear, not the inner.

Guys i fixed it. Forgot to take a picture but this Cabinet is 600mm deep but the rails are for 800mm so the exes that was hanging over was addin that extra 1-2 mm... Oh well we learn every day xD. But thx for the replies!
