R9 Fury (pro) Unlocking

I just got my hands on one of the asus strix R9 kungfury cards.
Curious if anyone here on this forum has unlocked theirs, following the guide on overclockers it looks like I'm going to enable half on the locked ones on my card.

I'm thinking of unlocking mine.

Unfortunately, there are a couple cores that aren't aligned, so they are probably legit dead. So I'd only be able to unlock half the locked cores.

I have yet to do in depth overclocking of my system (Having to much fun gaming and have school to prioritize). I'll probably try unlocking at least 4 cores in a couple weeks.

Mine looks like this.

Adapters detected: 1
Card #1 PCI ID: 1002:7300 - 1043:049E
DevID [7300] Rev CB, memory config: 0x00000000 (unused)

SE4 hw/sw: 00030000 / 00000000 [..............xx]
56 of 64 CUs are active. HW locks: 8 (R/W) / SW locks: 0 (R/W).
8 CU's are disabled by HW lock, override is possible at your own risk.

The left most rows of Xes are aligned, which means its pretty likely working just fine and just binned down.
The right most is missing one X, which could mean its dead.

Though people have unlocked their cards without issues even when it shows results like this.

YES, HNNNG.

Nice!

How much of a performance boost?

Usually just about 5-10% depending on the benchmark, its nothing earth shattering but still.
Combined with a overclock though, it becomes more in 980ti turf than 980 madly overclocked.

Mine looks similar to that

So I'm thinking only one row can be safely unlocked.

Yeah, I'd start with unlocking the right row.
Also called low4

I just unlocked both of mine to 3840 shaders. I started with a Sapphire Tri-x OC and a stock model. I used the OC bios as the base so it converted the stock model to the OC version.

Before.

Nice, sure that they cannot do all?
Just use one of the bios switches and test and see if it boots.

I might try to unlock the rest later. There's still some more stress testing I would like to do first. And it's not easy for me to switch the bios at the moment. I put EK full cover water blocks on these with a terminal bridge to connect them. The terminal bridge blocks the the bios switch unfortunately so I would have to do some disassemble to switch the bios incase of instability/failure. I've been planning on rebuilding my loop with rigid tube. I might replace the terminal block with rigid tube between the gpu's then. That should allow access to the switch again and I would fill more comfortable trying a full unlock.
