R9 390 vs R9 390X

On Newegg, there is a $100 difference between the two cards.
R9 390 ($329.99)
R9 390X ($429.99)
Is the $100 worth the seemingly slight (I base this observation solely on the specs) performance boost?

I am asking because I am in the market for a new card and I am looking at AMD. Just wondering if it is at all worth it to pay $100 more. I foresee you wanting to know what I use my computer for: it's mostly for gaming. I am in the market for a new GPU partly because my current one is old, and partly because I want to get a 1440p monitor.

Anyway, any and all responses are welcome!

Thanks,
Jake_

From a gaming standpoint there's almost no difference in gaming performance. from a professional standpoint, if you edit videos for a living. the extra Stream processors and OpenCL performance and the 8GiB VRAM on the 390x would be a godsend.

Excellent! That will save me $100! Thanks!

The 390 8GB performs arround the same as the 290X from what i have seen in most benchmarks.
The 390X performs slightly better, but not realy something to get excited about.
