yeah, they improved consitency with frame-rates. no more frame-rate drops, averages go up a bit, and of course features come. when Catalyst Omega came, we got VSR. which is a feature to run High resolutions on our regular monitors. basically you could run your games at 4k and it down-samples them to your 1080p monitor. OR if you don't want to do 4k you can do 1440p and it will down-sample it to your monitors native resolution. mind you Nvidia has this feature as well. the only issue with Nvidia is most of their features you need to buy into. unlike AMD where you don't.
Damn , I grew up with Nvida , never thought I would go with AMD , but I am seriously leaning towards R9 390 for longevity ...
Hooray for spouting age old nonsense. AMD cards do not run that hot at all. the 390 is a somewhat rebrand of the 290. I have a 290 it runs cooler than everyone says, or like to image better still. I refer you to my post in the lounge.
Just hotter which will lead to the age old, Hurr Durr mi nvuda runs lyke 15 kelvan, AMD is hotur tan da sun lulzor.
We also don't have terrible drivers any more... unless you wanted to wheel that one out too.
Better performance? Yes the 970 beats it in games gimped by nVidia. And 8GB may be over kill but it is better then 3.5GB.
Nope.
Yes :P
I have never hit the 3.5GB limit on any game I played.
doesn't mean you can't lol
Ya in 2 years maybe, I would have replaced my card well before that. As I think most people will.
well then you havent played shadow of mordor.
390 is junk, its just a 290 rebrand.
Nope, I don't play crap games.
Only game I hear reaching that is Shadow of Mordor because of poor optimization.
Can you please stop the spamming and the fanboying?
it just means that some of your claims are nonsense
AMD cards do run hot as hell. 390 is just a rebanded 290. Why would I pay for that? 970 > 390. that is all.
<3
Negative. I'm stating true facts.
I would get a 980TI if your looking for longevity.
Yeah. true facts that a 970 won't eventually reach that 3.5GiBs of VRAM which is non-sense.
