R9 290x No Signal

So i just built my first PC, and the Gigabyte r9 290x oc windforce is letting me down already.  I plugged everything correctly, gpu fans are spinning, but when i put in hdmi cable it says "no signal", working on intel graphics though. I tried updating bios, uninstaling intel drivers with driver fusion, still no good.
My specs:
Asrock Z87 Extreme 4

Corsair Vengeance low profile black 2x4gb (1600)

Fractal design newton r3 600w

i5 4670k 

Any suggestions?

disable the IGPU in the bios settings? or tell the bios to fire up the PCIE video card first?

igpu already disabled, and it set to primary vga as PCIE

 


EDIT: repositioned the card into another PCIE slot, and it works now, strange stuff, still not working on the first one though.
