R9 290 or R9 280x

Hey guys,

 

So I'm looking to upgrade my video card, and at the moment I'm running a dual monitor setup both 1920 x 1080 monitors. I am trying to decide between a:

   - Gigabyte R9 280x 3GB OC for $317AUD

or 

   - Gigabyte R9 290 4GB for $389AUD

 

I am looking to get another monitor which is 2560 x 1080, I want to run all three of them but only game on the 2560 x 1080 monitor, the rest of the time it will be used for web design and Photoshop work.

So any recommendation would be great.

I'd recommend the 290. With a set up like that your gonna want all the power you can and the 290 isn't significantly more. Just be sure it doesn't have a reference cooler on it.

Ok thanks, and thinking about it for $70 more its probably the better value as well.

I probably would buy a r9 285 (true audio and mantle)

290 all the way , the 4gb are amazing for high res

Mantle runs like trash on the 285 at least right now.
