R9 280x No GPU Load in BF4 Only

I built my first pc a week ago (see below) and everything was working just fine until I tried running BF4 tonight. 

  • AMD FX8350
  • AsRock Fatal1ty Killer 990FX Mobo
  • XFX R9 280x Black Edition
  • 8GB RAM
  • Corsair CS650M

For some reason while running BF4, the gpu usage was at 0% load (recorded from MSI Afterburner) and it would spike to values around 40% so I don't get over 2fps. Everything was running at stock so I tried overclocking the card to entice it to function, but nothing happened. I also manually set the fan speed to 100% but that had the same effect.

I had run the game just fine before today on ultra settings and everything was working normally while I played a bunch of Steam games throughout the day like Batman AA and Far Cry 3. After seeing the problem with BF4 I tried to play Civ 5 and it ran fine so I believe the problem is isolated to BF4. I also ran Kombustor and it stressed the gpu to 100% load and ran fine. The CPU temp never rose above 45 degrees and the GPU never above 74.

I'm running the latest drivers, 14.4, but not the beta, 14.6. I tried to upgrade to the beta drivers a few times but my computer blue screened every time. 

I'm wondering what is the issue (and how to fix it) and why is it just with BF4? Nothing has changed, at least on my pc's side, from last night to tonight but now I can't run the game on any settings. Could it be a driver issue? Or some software interfering with the game?

Why are you getting bluescreen with 14.6? I was able to install it and currently running it w/o problems. Back to you though, have you tried "Repair Game" option on BF4?

I have tried that to no avail.

Can you try another GPU?? I heard that some XFX card don't work properly. Anyway I can't tell that is a GPU failure for sure, I have an XFX R9 270 on my brother's rig and it never gave me any sort of problem. Try to install the newest driver avaible, but if the problem is going to solve you're card is under warranty so you can get a new one

I don't have another gpu to try and it runs all of my other games just fine so would that still be a GPU issue or a BF4 driver issue? Another thing I don't understand is it worked fine for the first few days I was using it then all of a sudden stopped.

if its only in BF4 then it seems to be something with BF4 in my opinnion, my reinstall the game.
