Is it worth it for a $1000 build?
the card alone is excellent if you are building a kill your console build. you can get away with a 7970 in this price range.
for what use? that's a fairly small portion to spend on a gpu if you're gaming
Go with a nice 550w to save a bit on the psu. Put it towards the gpu. You can get much better air coolers then an h60 for around 60 dollars. You might want to consider going with a less premium but still good 2tb drive instead of that wd black because game install sizes are getting stupid and the difference in speed isnt going to be that crazy.
Ok i have gone over your parts list. Here is the deal. You can get a 7870 for 169.99. An r9 270x is an overclocked 7870. So you could save the money. But what i would do is get a 7870 xt for 169.99. The 7870 xt should have been named the 7930 or r9 275x. Also the mobo you got is overkill. Another matter is that the corsair h60 gets beat by the hyper 212 evo time and time again by a fair margin for less money. The wd black performs the same as the seagate barracuda but the seagate costs less. Also you don't need a gold certified psu. The gold cert is useless. It just proves slightly higher quality for alot more money. Good luck maxing out bf4 on that 144hz monitor. Here is a slightly redone parts list http://pcpartpicker.com/p/20iKL But here is what you should get... It will perform much better and cost less! http://pcpartpicker.com/p/20iWI The 8320 is an fx 8350 but .5ghz down you can turn it up yourself.
Save on the CPU by buying a FX-8320, save on the PSU by buying a CX-500m or 600m, save on the monitor by grabbing a $125 IPS fHD screen). You can really get away with cheaper headphones too I guess (I've been doing with €25 headphones for half a year now, sound great). Motherboard is overkill too, get whatever 990FX chipset motherboard is cheapest and to your liking. With the money saved you can probably even get a R9-290 with an Arctic Accelero Extreme III, or if you wait a few weeks a R9-290 with an aftermarket cooler.
Really dude. A IPS fHD screen for 125 instead of the moniter he chose which has 144 mhz refresh rate? Refresh makes quite a difference when gaming. The sennheiser he chose is great. A lot of competitive gamers use them or suggest something like the m50. I'll be getting the ad700x for positional accuracy but any of these will blow away some cheep $40 headphones. Hes in a different market with those. While he can save money on the PSU he also chose a Gold certified. Not a bad choice but expensive. And +1 on the gfx card. I got the 3770k and wasted about 150 compared to the 8350 then mobo to match but i love the z77 sabertooth mobo
i would personaly advice if i look at your build specs, i think you are an real gamer, your build looks great.
But I would personaly say try to cheap out on some parts like seagate baracuda 1TB or WD caviar blue 1TB they just 20 bucks cheaper. also i would say pickup a cheaper, but still decent psu. a XFX for example, is also great.
Trow the money you save on there, in a R9-280X its worth every single dine. especialy if you pickup the higher clocked ones.
Just the fact that he's spending 1/4th of his money on peripherals (not even counting mice and keyboards) is in my opinion a bit crazy, but to everyone his taste. I totally am an anti-audiophile and I don't really hear a difference between my $50 A-Jays in-ears and my dad's $400 Sennheiser over-ears.
The 144Hz monitor in that market is actually quite a good deal, but also personally would never spend that much money on a screen...
Consider an AMD 7930 (7870XT).
