Hey All. So I've got the r9 270x Gigabyte version with 4096mb ddr5.
According to many other online game benchmarks skyrim should run at ultra setttings with avergage of 70fps at 1080p.
Now I play the game at 1440p but even without any mods I would say an average of 40 fps only. When I add an ENB without even any textures the game becomes unplayable with under 25 fps and even 5 fps near the dark brotherhood sanctuary.
Anyway Can someone tell me fi this is normal or am i missing something.
Because the R9-270x is not a "1440p" Gaming card, Performance wise a 270x is meant to run MOST games at 1080p at High Settings. also Extra VRAM does not mean it is a stronger card, lets throw that out the window right now, you are just capable of displaying more things on your screen cause of your 2 Extra GB of VRAM from the original.
But to answer your question Yes its normal, it's not a powerful card
In the scale of terrible to Holy Shit its around good enough
HOLY SHIT (GTX 780, R9-290, R9-290x GTX 780ti are right here)
DAMN (R9-280x, R9-280, GTX 770 are right here)
GOOD ENOUGH (R9-270x and R9-270 and GTX 760 are right here)
I NEED AN UPGRADE LATER ON (R7-265x R7-260x GTX 750ti are right here)
THIS IS TERRIBLE (Every GPU below a hundred dollars are here)
Also everything listed under "DAMN" and "HOLY SHIT" are Very good candidates of Excellent cards that are capable of gaming in 1440p at Acceptable frame-rates
Yup, its a middle of the road gpu aimed at 1080p. Might be able to cf it and get better results but i am sure it will be a pain. There is a 4g version? Why?
I pretty much have the same exact card,it's the 7870 and also from gigabyte,at 1080p with everything maxed out in the game and streaming at the same time it still stays at 60fps constantly. and it has 2 gb vram. But I think I see your problem,it's 1440p,it's a pretty big jump for a 270x performance wise. It's an amazing card for the price but it's not supposed to max out games at 1440p. It's aimed for the 1080p budget gamer that wants ultra on games
