R9 270 or R9 270X?

Im building a pc for a friend to play BF4 (he hasn't bought bf4 yet) and i saw this xfx card for cheaper than the r9 270 but i dont think the cooler is quite as good as the msi... plus of course the msi come with BF4.

Thanks in advance :D

270x is the obvious choice. Even if the cooler was reference, strictly speaking performance/dollar, it would still be a better value to get the higher end GPU, it's about the same price. Short of noise being a critical factor for you, getting a higher end GPU is always a better choice than getting a lower tier GPU with a better cooler. The fact that the higher end GPU is cheaper, AND has a non-reference cooler makes the choice very obvious.

they're the same gpu, the cooler is the only difference, that and 1 coming with a game

Diffrence between a R9-270 and R9-270X is just the base GPU clock speed. X stands for ghz edition. those are equal to a 7870.

if you could find a 7870XT for les then grab that one.

i thought that was the case but i didnt know if the 270x could overclock higher, maybe due to less voltage?
