I happened to get a copy of Windows 8 for free from my brother, I'm not sure if I really want to install it or not?
I'm just an average gamer, I play a bunch of popular games and indie games on steam etc. Is it worth installing it?
When you do a reinstall, it can make sense to install a 8 instead of 7. Upgrading to 8 while your 7 installation works fine is not worth it.
For me Windows 8 with StartIsBack works the almost completely the same way as Windows 7 but looks better and that's why I use it.
don't forget double the speed on boot times, better task manger, Start Screen(i use it to store my most frequent apps so i can keep my desktop free of clutter), optimization on CPUs, More current drivers, etc. Windows 8 is great never had a single problem unless it was of my own doing(overclocking).
Like dissentient said, unless you have a problem, there is no need for Windows 8. Wait until you have to reformat.
